Emanate Health:
- Provides free aids and services to people with disabilities to communicate effectively with us, such as:
- Qualified sign language interpreters
- Written information in other formats (large print, audio, accessible electronic formats, other formats)
- Provides free language services to people whose primary language is not English, such as:
- Qualified interpreters
- Information written in other languages

You have the right to an interpreter
Emanate Health's staff has the ability to access qualified and experienced medical interpreters to better meet the needs of our Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients. We have on-demand access to medically qualified Interpreters in over 220 languages through the InterpreTalk telephone system of Language Services Associates (LSA), Inc., 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Through LSA, Emanate Health also offers Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) services available for on-demand access to medically qualified interpreters in both American Sign Language (ASL) and Spanish.
Equipment (TDD, Telephone Device for the Deaf) for the hearing impaired is available for patients with a hearing deficit. Patients with speech disabilities may access a support telephone service available 24 hours a day. Emanate Health also collaborates with the Braille Institute Library services to provide Talking Book Machines.
We have on-site Spanish interpreters during regular weekday work hours at two of our hospitals (Emanate Health Queen of the Valley Hospital and Emanate Health Inter-Community Hospital), and our standard documents and forms in English are translated into Spanish and Traditional Chinese.
Whenever possible, appropriate LEP services will be arranged prior to patient arrival. All interpreter services are provided free of charge to our patients.
