Queen of the Valley Hospital and Inter-Community Hospital have received Healthy Hospital Awards from Stryker's Sustainability Solutions division.

The 'healthy hospital' designation is reserved for select hospitals that demonstrate outstanding leadership in healthcare sustainability and overall hospital quality through single-use device (SUD) reprocessing. In 2017, these two facilities successfully diverted over 6,000 pounds of medical waste from 2 landfills and reduced its supply costs by $347,638 dollars.
With the first quarter of 2018 completed, Stryker says both hospitals are on track to beat out 2017 with an estimated $132,536 in savings.
